Ambulance Victoria recently launched GoodSAM across the state in partnership with St John Ambulance Victoria and other emergency services. The progressive app is available for First Aid Responders, Doctors, Nurses and other qualified health professionals to sign up to be alerted if someone in their area suffers a cardiac arrest.

Our research has found that only 3 in 10 (30%) workers are aware of a defibrillator in their workplace. Considering the population spends the majority of their time at work this is a major concern as the likelihood of an incident occurring during these hours is significantly high.

In 1992 Allie Ford made a decision to devote her free time to aiding her community with St John. As a teen, the commitment to participating in such a selfless pastime was motivated by friendships she had fostered, she was completely unaware how instrumental this decision would be to becoming the woman she is today.
