It Pays To Know Your OH&S Responsibilities!
St John has now extended its professional reputation and experience for First Aid in the workplace into the OH&S sector. We can now offer new OH&S short courses designed to help you and your colleagues understand your responsibilities under OH&S law. The programs have been designed by OH&S experts and are ideal for supervisors and managers who need to understand their roles in managing OH&S issues but who may not be OH&S experts.
We are now taking bookings for the following OH&S short courses:
OH&S for Managers and Supervisors - 2 days
Managers and Supervisors often have less training than Health & Safety Representatives, yet they can be held personally liable under the OH&S Act. This course is designed to cover the knowledge of OH&S rights and responsibilities in the workplace, for employers, supervisors and employees.
Obtain two qualifications in three days! This course can be run in association with the one day St John Ambulance Senior First Aid Fast-Track course (Level 2) to provide a three day program for your on-site staff.
Introduction to OH&S - 4 hours
This half-day program can be tailored to focus on OH&S issues specific to your workplace environment and is delivered on-site for ten or more participants. It is designed to raise the awareness of OH&S issues, hazards and risks, to develop basic skills and outline OH&S systems and processes.
Introduction to Manual Handling - 4 hours
Designed to provide supervisors and employees with the knowledge to manage manual handling issues, including how to assess and control manual handling risks specific to their workplace environment.
Introduction to Managing and Supervising Confined Space Work - 4 hours
Designed to provide managers and supervisors an overview of the WorkSafe Confined Spaces Compliance Code. The course will cover various issues including managing safe entry and working in confined spaces specific to the workplace environment.
OH&S Law for Managers and Supervisors - 4 hours
Designed to provide managers and supervisors with the knowledge and skills to apply principles of the Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Act and other legislative requirements on the job.
Introduction to Hazardous Substances/Dangerous Goods - 4 hours
Designed to provide managers, supervisors and employees involved with handling and storing chemicals, an overview of various WorkSafe documents and any compliance issues specific to their workplace environment.
Obtain two qualifications in one day! This course can be run in association with the 4 hour St John Ambulance Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Course to provide a one day program for your on-site staff.
