We're giving away a defibrillator to one deserving business.

This "Shocktober" we're giving away a Philips Heart Start HS1 defibrillator valued at $2395 to one Victoria organisation who needs a helping hand.

October is defibrillator awareness month. "Shocktober" is a timely reminder for everyone, including Victorian organisations to not just consider COVID safety when reopening after easing of restrictions, but also to consider how to keep staff and customers safe in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest - which is one of the leading causes of death amongst Australians.

Shockingly, survival from sudden cardiac arrest in Victoria halved during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is due to longer ambulance response times delaying defibrillation by paramedics by 2 minutes.

Every minute counts. Access to a defibrillator means you can step in with the tools to save a life before paramedics arrive. Research shows survival rates of up to 70% can be achieved if an AED is on hand.

We understand that a lot of organisations are struggling as they reboot after lockdown which is why we want to gift a life saving defibrillator to an organisation that really needs it.

Fill out the entry form below and tell us in 100 words or less why this organisation deserves a defibrillator.

Competition closes Friday 30th October 2020
