2 day course where you will learn how to correctly and safely drive an Ambulance when transporting a patient.
Driving standards for those operating ambulances is critical to the safety of not just the patient on board, but of the wider community. Keeping everyone physically, emotionally and psychologically safe is vital in the pressured environment of an emergency response and ensuring a smooth ride and guaranteed arrival is the goal.
This course will ensure drivers are operating to the stringent Ambulance Victoria driving standards, required to be rostered onto their shifts run by NEPT providers such as St John. This course will open up employment potential for those who may have already completed a Certificate in Non-Emergency Patient Transport, Diploma of Paramedicine or Bachelor of Paramedicine, as driver training to Ambulance Victoria standards is not covered in those courses.
After a successful day on the road with our Accredited Trainers, you will be marked competent and have a completed Driver Training Booklet for your AV shifts.
Those who would like to work in the Victorian NEPT industry for any of the larger providers operating shifts for Ambulance Victoria, as the completion of this course is a requirement by Ambulance Victoria. This course is ideal for those who have completed training as NEPT personnel, as the last step to beginning a NEPT career.
