Anaphylaxis training booking portal for the Victorian Department of Education and Training

The Department of Education and Training (DET) Booking Portal can be used by Victorian government schools to book staff anaphylaxis training that is funded by the Department.

Funded Anaphylaxis training

The Department will fund two staff per government school (or per campus) to complete 22579VIC Course in Verifying the Correct Use of Adrenaline Injector Devices training. This course equips participants with the skills and knowledge to act as school anaphylaxis supervisors and assess their colleagues’ ability to use an adrenaline autoinjector.

There is a pre-requisite for entry to the course 22579VIC Course in Verifying the Correct Use of Adrenaline Injector Devices. A staff member needs to hold a Statement of Attainment for either of the following courses:

  • 10710NAT Course in Allergy and Anaphylaxis Awareness; OR
  • 22578VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis (or its predecessor 22300VIC).

If a staff member needs to complete pre-requisite training they can enrol to complete the 22578VIC course with St John - it will also be funded by the Department and can be booked on this portal.

In addition, the staff member needs to have completed the online ASCIA Anaphylaxis e-training for Victorian Schools no more than 30 days prior to participating in 22579VIC Course in Verifying the Correct Use of Adrenaline Injector Devices. They must bring this certificate with them to class.

Where a school chooses to train other staff in 22578VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis this training is available at the school’s expense.

Verifying of school staff by St John

Where a school has an urgent need to verify staff in the use of adrenaline injectors, and has no trained school anaphylaxis supervisors available on staff, St John can directly verify the staff in accordance with Ministerial Order 706. Group bookings can be made via the Request Onsite Booking button below. Approval from the Department of Education and Training is required and St John will obtain this approval on behalf of the school before processing the request. 

This training, upon approval from the Department of Education and Training, is funded by the Department.
